Duas Descrições Lagrangeanas para a Eletrodinâmica de London

Resumo

A Eletrodinâmica de London é revisitada no contexto de duas descrições Lagrangianas. As equações de London descrevem o diamagnetismo extremo, característico dos supercondutores tipo I. Uma descrição Lagrangeana, em um primeiro caso, é estabelecida utilizando um multiplicador de Lagrange à Lagrangeana de Maxwell, enquanto na segunda descrição se utiliza a Lagrangeana de Proca. Mostramos que existe uma equivalência entre as duas Lagrangeanas e discutimos algumas das consequências dessa equivalência.

Franz A. Farias, Departamento de Física - UEFS

Bacharel em Física (1992) e Mestre em Física (1998) pela Universidade Federal da Bahia. Doutor em Ciências (Física) (2005) pela Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. Atualmente é Professor Adjunto do Departamento de Física da Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana (DFIS-UEFS). Tem trabalhado em Física com ênfase em Teoria Geral de Partículas e Campos e Física Matemática, atuando nos temas: Eletrodinâmica Quântica em Cavidades, Formulação Hamiltoniana de Teorias de Calibre e Geometria Não-Comutativa e Aplicações da TQC em Matéria Condensada.
