About the Journal
Focus and Scope
This journal is dedicated to the publication of research articles, abstract articles of monographs, dissertations, and theses, in the fields of Physics, book reviews and letters to the editor.
Peer Review Process
The submission will be previously checked as to its compliance with the journal's editorial standards and the text format in LaTeX. The editors will forward the submission for content examination to the evaluator, member of the editorial board. If necessary, the editor(s) may request an ad-hoc referee for the volume of the journal.
Frequency
The Sitientibus Journal Physical Science Series (SPSS) is an annual publication, with a single volume published in December.
Open Access Policy
The SPSS is financially supported by the State University of Feira de Santana, a public institution, which receives funds from the State Treasury. The editing, digital production and printing costs of the magazine are entirely borne by public money. In addition, editors spend part of their working hours paid for with public money in managing the magazine. Therefore, if financial support comes from public funds, authors and readers have to benefit from it. Its Editorial Board considers that scientific knowledge financed with public money cannot be privately appropriated at any stage of the business publishing chain.
For this reason, this journal provides open access to its content, based on the principle that publicly funded scientific knowledge should be freely available to the public in order to support greater global knowledge exchange.

Journal history
Sitientibus Journal, the first to appear in 1982, marked a time, within that sense of punctuation, the first UEFS magazine, recognized not only by the university community, but by many and many academic and cultural bodies, nationally and internationally .
CAPES, through the QUALICAPES index, confirms the conquered and always renewed position of Sitientibus magazine, by scoring it with concepts A and B. If, in its initial period, Sitientibus was in the generalist phase, meeting the needs of the time , starts, from 1999, in the second phase, the multidisciplinary one, as we said in the editorial of number 20, p.6, jan./jun. 1999, this release, therefore, creates perspectives for serial publications (Biological Science series, Science series, Health Sciences series, Human Sciences and Philosophy series, Letters and Arts series, among others). It was necessary to support the production of texts, quantitatively and qualitatively, in order to ensure the periodicity of the series, avoiding interruptions and aiming to represent the current stage of the University.
The third phase is recorded, later on, when we decided to follow the steps of the Department of Biology that created the Biological Science series, in a new configuration of the journal, without excluding some previous requirements. As exposed in the Sitientibus 2000 Proposal, of our elaboration, the idea was to promote a similar publication in the field of Physics.
This was how the Sitientibus Journal Physical Science Series, newly created in 2005, was created, and is itself a space for the dissemination of scientific works authored, not only by professors and researchers from the Department of Physics at UEFS, but also by other institutions. But also from texts by students belonging to the universe of that department, according to the criteria established by specialists in the various areas of Physics.
This was another step in the consolidation of serial publications, already provided for in the aforementioned proposal. A point that adds to the others. That we pay attention to the creative increment of this volume 1, demonstrated in the design and in the formal part, following the models already established for this type of journal. It should also be noted the integration with the primeval objectives of Sitientibus, essentially linked to the UEFS tradition, supported by the Academy's Coat of Arms. On the cover, an illustration containing elements of that traditional symbol, revealing, in a shell and pearl dynamics, the opening to life, to creation.
Finally, a symbiosis between Science and Art, thus showing that the act of conception, visible/invisible, recalling Taoism, or the Western view, in this case, through the Physical Science, should not target rival points, but possibly, conjunctions or disjunctions for a more integrative understanding of the processes of material and immaterial life.
We believe that the editing, which has just begun, will enable a two-way path. The matches and counterparts are essential for the unveiling of all things, in the transit of thinking and acting, where reason and feeling go hand in hand.
The Sitientibus Journal Physical Science Series was born in 2005, as part of the extension activities of the Department of Physics at UEFS in celebration of the Centenary of the Theory of Special Relativity. That year was declared the World Year of Physics by the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (known by its acronym in English, IUPAP) and other associations of physicists (and physicists), such as the Brazilian Society of Physics, and was supported by UNESCO and by the United Nations General Assembly.
The Sitientibus Journal Physical Science Series is an editorial division of the SITIENTIBUS Journal, as well as the Sitientibus Journal Biological Science Series. We underline the need for an editorial dedicated to Physics, and together with the General Editor of SITIENTIBUS, we have the condition to take over the new journal of the Department of Physics at UEFS.
The journal's focus has always been on disseminating research papers in Physics in the form of Articles, but it also accepts Letters to the Editor, Reviews of Physics Books and related areas of interest, and Abstracts of Monographs, Dissertations and Theses. These four sections make up the journal as a whole in the following order: LETTERS TO THE EDITOR, BOOK REVIEWS, RESEARCH ARTICLES, AND MONOGRAPH SUMMARIES, DISSERTATIONS, AND THESIS.
In 2019, the Sitientibus Journal Physical Science Series completed 15 Years of uninterrupted publication of papers. Now in 2020, the magazine takes another step by adding itself, like many other UEFS publications, to the Portal de Periodicos Eletrônicos (PPE).
The journal's Editorial Board has been revised and expanded, in order to contemplate, in a more representative way, many sub-areas of Physics. With the PPE, the Sitientibus Journal Physical Science Series becomes a continuous flow journal, ending the single volume every December. Articles to be accepted for the volume of the year must be submitted
