Author Guidelines

The first step for the author to submit an article is to register on the journal page at the following link:

http://periodicos.uefs.br/index.php/SSCF/user/register

In the registration form, the author must click on the CONFIRMATION option to follow the article's arbitration process. Also at the end, the author must click on the REGISTER AS option.

The author must submit the article in LaTeX format according to the journal's template, available at the link below:

To submit an article, the author must download the 'Template to the Autor' file in LaTeX format, preferably using RevTeX 4 style, through the link above, through the link indicated above. This file contains fields to be filled out as name, address of the institution(s) of the author(s), e-mail for contact, title of the work and translation of the title into English, abstract (maximum 150 words), abstract, keywords (with a number minimum of three and maximum of five) and keywords, the English translation of the keywords. The space dedicated to the body of the article is also highlighted in the template. Also in the file 'Model for Author' are placed examples of the various commands, equations and references is also exemplified in the aforementioned file. The formats are explained below. References must be sequenced, i.e., cited according to the order in which they appear in the text.

1. The first page must contain: a) title of the article, b) English version of the title of the article, c) name(s) of the author(s), professional and e-mail addresses, institution to which they belong).

2. Abstract and Abstract, each with a maximum of 150 words, including objective, method and result. After the abstract and abstract follow the Keywords and Keywords, whose accepted number is a minimum of three and a maximum of five. It is up to the authors to send good quality translations for the adequate acceptance of the work.

3. Manuscripts: articles must be typed using the LATEX scientific editor with RevTeX style (v.4.2). To assemble the article, authors are provided with a standard article containing the commands that define the general format of the article.

4. Figures, Tables and Graphs: any and all figures, tables or graphs must be sent in JPG (maximum quality), PNG, or PDF format. Figures, tables and small graphics (compared to the size of A4 paper) can be sent already inserted in the body of the work. When they are large (compared to the size of A4 paper), they must be sent separately from the body of the article.

5. It is not necessary to highlight a field for references. The LaTeX compiler automatically defines it using the \thebibliography and \bibitem commands. See the examples below:

a) Journal article without the explicit title:

D.C. McCollum, J. Callaway. Phys. Rev. Lett. 9, (9) 376 (1962).

The notation at the end above is volume in bold, separated from the rest by a comma. Publication number in parentheses, article's home page and year of publication in parentheses.

b) Journal article with the explicit title:

D.C. McCollum, J. Callaway, Spin-Wave Contribution to the Specific Heat of EuS. Phys. Rev.Lett. 9, (9) 376 (1962).

c) Book with one author:

R. Boczko, Conceitos de Astronomia. São Paulo: Edgard Blücher (1984).

d) Book with multiple authors:

AC Friaça, E. Dal Pino, L. Sodré Jr., V. Jatenco-Pereira, Astronomia: Uma Visão Geral do Universo. São Paulo: EDUSP (2003).

e) Book chapter:

f) Newspaper article:

g) Paper published in Congress, Meeting, Symposium:

h) Normative Instructions, Resolutions, Decrees, Laws:

i) Monographs, dissertations and theses:

Footnotes should be treated as ordinary citations, sequenced in the order of presentation and appear in the article's references field.

Contributions sent to the journal are submitted for analysis by the Editorial Board, meeting the criteria of the publishing rules presented here and of content selection. The analysis is carried out without identifying the author(s) (ie, blindly) to preserve the impartiality and neutrality of the evaluation.

The text of the article, its grammatical content and scientific writing, regardless of language, are the sole responsibility of the author(s).
