The article aims to bring a reflection on the identity and
constitution of health subjects in the public space carried
out during an interview carried out in December 2008 with
Mário Testa, an Argentine researcher who has been thinking strategically about collective health since the 1990s. Doctor, he worked as a research fellow at the Center for Development Studies (CENDES) at the Central University
of Venezuela and participated in the elaboration of the CENDES/OPS Planning Method, the creation of the Institute of Medicine of I work, having written several books that
inspired theoretical reflection on planning, power and the
constitution of subjects of knowledge in health, from a critical perspective. Mário Testa received the title of doctor honoris causa from the Federal University of Bahia and was part of the Advisory Board of the Instituto de Salud Colectiva at the Universidad de Lanús (UNLa). He passed away on November 5, 2024, at his home in Buenos Aires.
