Toxoplasmosis is a zoonosis caused by Toxoplasma gondii, a protozoan parasite with a wide distribution worldwide. This infection has a greater impact in immunocompromised individuals and in congenital infections. The objective of this study was to evaluate the serological profile for toxoplasmosis in women of reproductive age (15-49 years) attended at a teaching maternity hospital in Santa Cruz-RN. A descriptive, retrospective and quantitative study was carried out in which the reports of 274 women were analyzed, from January to May 2018. The variables studied were: result of IgG and IgM anti-Toxoplasma serology, age, zone and neighborhood of residence and diagnostic method (s) used. Of the 274 reports, 40.1% showed reactive serology for IgG anti-T. gondii, 0.7% had reactive IgM anti-T.gondii, while 47.8% were susceptible to toxoplasmosis. Of the 241 reports with conclusive serology (seropositive or susceptible), the age groups 31-42 years showed a statistically significant association with seropositivity and an occurrence 1.4 times greater than those aged 15-30 years (p = 0,014; RP = 1,420, IC = 1,086-1,859). The highest percentage of seropositive women was in the urban area (72.2%) and Paraíso neighborhood (43.2%) in the city of Santa Cruz/RN. Thus, it was found that there is a need for programs to promote health and sanitary and environmental improvements for women in the region.
