Focus and Scope

Sertane - Journal of Applied Social Sciences of DCIS/UEFS is a joint initiative of the Business Administration, Accounting, Law, and Economics programs of the Department of Applied Social Sciences (DCIS) at the State University of Feira de Santana (UEFS). It is an open-access, electronic scientific journal dedicated to the publication of original works that adopt an interdisciplinary perspective within the scope of Applied Social Sciences.

The journal aims to establish itself as a space for the production, circulation, and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the field of Applied Social Sciences, welcoming contributions from different theoretical and methodological perspectives.

The journal's mission is to foster critical dialogue and integration among the knowledge of management, accounting, law, and economics, overcoming isolated disciplinary approaches to face complex problems of social reality.

The journal adopts a plural and non-restrictive orientation, open to the diversity of approaches, objects of study, and epistemological traditions that characterize the areas composing the field of Applied Social Sciences. In this sense, it encourages both disciplinary studies and those that promote interdisciplinary dialogue between different fields of knowledge, respecting the specificity of each area.

Works situated in the fields of Business Administration, Law, Economics, and Accounting, as well as related areas, are accepted, provided they demonstrate theoretical consistency, methodological rigor, and academic relevance.

The journal publishes the following sections: scientific articles (theoretical-empirical, critical literature review, or technological); technological articles; essays; case studies; experience reports; teaching cases; and critical reviews (works published in the last two years).

Sertane - Journal of Applied Social Sciences of DCIS/UEFS adopts a continuous flow of submissions, combined with a biannual periodicity for the publication of issues. The manuscript undergoes evaluation (desk review + double-blind review). The Journal will publish in a continuous flow as soon as articles are approved and edited throughout the year. Volume 1 gathers the articles published in the first semester (January to June); Volume 2 gathers the articles published in the second semester (July to December).
