About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Sitientibus série Ciências Biológicas (SCB) publishes original scientific articles in botany, ecology, ethnobiology, genetics, mycology, microbiology and zoology, comprising works in anatomy, animal behaviour, biogeography, biodiversity, conservation, molecular biology, physiology and systematics, including inventories, reviews and taxonomic notes.

Peer Review Process

Every script will be directed to an associate editor of SCB (or to a voluntary editor), who will make the first assessment of the work. The peer review process will follow a bilateral anonymous system, where authors and reviewers are closed to each other. Authors may suggest up to five potential reviewers (complete names and e-mail) to evaluate their work. Based on the reviews, the associate editor will decide about the manuscripts suitability for publication, suggesting improvements and indicating corrections necessary to have the work accepted.
