We present the taxonomic treatment of Bouchea for the state of Bahia, Brazil. In the study area, the genus is represented exclusively by B. agrestis, which primarily occurs in open vegetation formations, such as caatingas, campos rupestres, and limestone outcrops. The study includes a detailed description of the genus and species, field photographs, distribution data, and a map of occurrences in the state. Additionally, we provide taxonomic notes concerning B. inopinata. This taxon, previously considered synonym of B. agrestis, does not exhibit diagnostic characteristics of Bouchea, and may be a species of Glandularia, possibly a synonym of G. peruviana or G. tweedieana.
