TERREIROS E INTERVENÇÕES URBANAS 1970-1980

Resumo

Resumo: Este artigo busca compreender as mudanças urbanísticas na comunidade do Cabula e seus possíveis impactos nos terreiros e/ou centros religiosos, tomando como recorte espacial e temporal a Av. Silveira Martins, Estrada das Barreiras e Engomadeira no período entre 1970 e 1980. Utiliza-se neste artigo leituras, discussões e fontes tais como matérias jornalísticas, mapas, projetos urbanos e entrevistas orais com as lideranças dos terreiros Viva Deus Filho, Centro Lua Cheia e Ilê axé Omin Ogum Jatoni. O artigo propõe preencher as lacunas da historiografia social provocadas pela escassez bibliográfica a respeito do tema, e parte da premissa de que o espaço urbano não é neutro na construção de narrativas, nem em seus usos.

Abstract: Abstract: This article aims to examine the urban transformations occurring in the Cabula community and their potential implications for the terreiros (spiritual centers) and/or religious centers, with a particular focus on Av. Silveira Martins, Estrada das Barreiras, and Engomadeira between the years 1970 and 1980. This article employs a variety of sources, including newspaper articles, maps, urban projects, and oral interviews with the leaders of the terreiros Viva Deus Filho, Centro Lua Cheia, and Ilê axé Omin Ogum Jatoni, to examine the subject matter. The article aims to address the deficiencies in social historiography resulting from the paucity of literature on the subject. It begins with the assumption that urban space is not inherently neutral in the formation of narratives or in its utilization.
