Author Guidelines

Submission of papers

Papers written in Portuguese, French, Spanish and English are accepted. The author of the article must have a minimum of a master's degree or, if not, be co-authored with his/her advisor. Exceptions may be made for “notable knowledge” recognized by the journal's editorial committee. The length of translations, reviews and interviews may vary according to prior agreement with the editorial team. Articles must have a maximum length of 50,000 characters with spaces (average length of 18 pages), including notes and references. All papers must be submitted in a text editor compatible with Word, WordPerfect or Page, edited in Times New Roman font, size 12, line spacing 1.5, no spacing between paragraphs, and no pagination. Papers must be accompanied by a letter from the author, in which he/she requests the editors to publish his/her text in the Journal, and a separate sheet with the author's data, academic/professional affiliation, telephone number and physical and electronic address. The article, without any identification of the author, must follow the following sequence: title; abstract, of a maximum of 200 words; up to 5 keywords; title in English; abstract; up to 5 keywords; text; references.

Text formatting

Quotes longer than 3 lines are highlighted from the body of the text, with a 4.0 cm left indent, single line spacing, font: Times New Roman, size 10. The first mention of a work in the text must be followed by the year of the edition used, as it will appear in the references. Citations should be presented in the body of the text and follow the format “AUTHOR, date, page”. Footnotes, inserted in the body of the text, must be exclusively explanatory, and not references, and their use should be avoided as much as possible. When there is a citation in a footnote, it should also follow the format “AUTHOR, date, page”. The use of italics should be restricted to the names of works and foreign words and, very exceptionally, be used for emphasis. The final references, arranged in alphabetical order by the first author's last name, edited without paragraphs, with single spacing in the same reference and double spacing between references, must follow the following sequence, as appropriate:

- Books

SURNAME, Initials of the first names. Title. City: Publisher, Year of the edition used.

- Articles in Journals

SURNAME, Initials of the first names. Title. In: Title of the Journal. City, volume, number, period and year, pages.

- Collections and chapters of books

SURNAME, Initials of the first names (of the author). Title. In: SURNAME(S) and ABBREVIATED NAME(S) OF THE ORGANIZER(S). Title of the Book. City: Publisher, Year of the edition used, pages.

“Double-blind” review system

As soon as the papers are received by the editors, they are forwarded to the Editorial Committee, which is responsible for assessing whether the texts fit the scope of the Journal. After this initial assessment, if the papers are approved, they are forwarded to two reviewers, according to the “double-blind” system: neither the reviewers are informed of the names of the authors, nor the authors of the names of the authors. The reviewers can: approve the paper; not approve it; approve it on the condition that modifications are made to it. In the latter case, the paper returns to the author, who in turn will have a short period of time to make the corrections.

Review

After the final version of the paper is sent, it will still be reviewed by the Journal’s review team, which will point out any technical or grammatical errors or errors in compliance with the text formatting standards.

Authorship

All content of the works, including references, citations, images, graphs and other published data, are the sole responsibility of the authors and do not reflect the opinions of the Journal's editorial team.
