The work Meteoros was first published in 1637, together with the Discourse on the Method and its other essays, namely, Geometry and Dioptrics. In view of this, it is imperative to elucidate that the Cartesian meteorological essay must be interpreted from the philosophical and scientific horizon that gives rise to Descartes' proposal contemplated in this period of his intellectual production. The work Meteoros is divided into 10 Discourses or Chapters, which reveal to the reader two main characteristics, namely, on the one hand, the similarities and differences that demarcate speculative philosophy and the proposal for a modern philosophy inaugurated by Descartes, and, on the other hand, the advent of an innovative method applied to particular science (meteorological science), especially when the aforementioned French philosopher describes in Discourse VIII the colors of the atmospheric phenomenon of the rainbow. From this context, this article presents the contents of the Cartesian Meteorological work of 1637.
