O IMPOSSÍVEL COMO SUPLEMENTO DOS QUASI-CONCEITOS DA DESCONSTRUÇÃO

Abstract

This article addresses Derrida's quasi-concept of the impossible in two senses: 1) as a supplement, marked by unconditionality, to a series of other quasi-concepts within the idiom of deconstruction, thus considering it indispensable for understanding them. We will address not only the relationship between the impossible and the supplement, but also its injunction in central quasi-concepts of deconstruction: questioning, mourning, gift, forgiveness, and hospitality. 2) the evolution of Derrida's understanding of the impossible, briefly reviewing his early writings and reflecting on his unique approach to this quasi-concept in deconstruction. Through this questioning, we aim not only to demonstrate some of its implications for what is understood as human, but also to consider it, through a non-realist and non-utopian lens, as a reinvention of the self, mediated by the idea of ​​the impossible. Here, the dimension of the future comes into play, making the impossible a condition of possibility for the possible.
