Biodegradation of cellulose and lignin by fungi: a brief review
DOI:

The bioconversion of lignocellulosics compounds is catalyzed by a group of lignocellulolytic enzymes such as endo and exo-glucanase, b-glucosidase, lignin peroxidase, manganese peroxidase, and laccase. These enzymes are produced by a large variety of fungi, like Phanerochaete chrysosporium, Phlebia radiata, Trametes versicolor, Trichoderma viride, Trichoderma reesei, Penicillium pinophilum. The enzymatic production is influenced by the substrate and culture conditions. This review considers some aspects of the lignin and celullose biodegradation by fungi.
