Flora of Bahia: Loasaceae

The floristic survey of Loasaceae for Bahia State, Brazil is presented. The family has about 16 genera and 301 species, distributed in tropical and temperate zone of America. Five genera occur in Brazil with about 20 species. In Bahia State two genera and five species have been recorded: Aosa rupestris (Gardner) Weigend, A. gilgiana (Urb.) Weigend, A. parviflora (DC.) Weigend, A. sigmoidea Weigend and Mentzelia aspera L. Identification key, description, illustration and maps with the geographic distribution of the species in the state are presented.
