Edible insects commercialized at the markets of Cuautitlán de Romero Rubio, Mexico State, Mexico

We recorded 12 species of edible insects in Cuautitlán de Romero Rubio México, with the following taxonomic distribution: Orthoptera Order: Sphenarium spp., Hemiptera Order. Corisella mercenaria, C. texcocana, Krisousacorixa azteca, K.femorata, Notonecta unifasciata, Lepidoptera Order: Comadia redtembacheri and Aegiale hesperiaris, and Hymenoptera Order: Apis mellifera, Melipona sp., Liometopum apiculatum, and Liometopum occidentale var. luctuosum. The family most abundant was Corixidae, and their economic importance as natural resource is discussed.
