Depois do último trem, de Josué Guimarães: fato e ficção (em Altinho e Abarama), mas em acervo literário

Abstract

The Literary Collection of Josué Guimarães (ALJOG/UPF), under the custody of the University of Passo Fundo since 2007, holds thousands of items related to the author's memory, including original manuscripts, personal belongings, sketches, notes, correspondence, as well as a large quantity of press publications related to the professional life of a late-blooming author who dedicated himself to literature in maturity. After the Last Train, published in 1973, has preserved records of his writing process, such as maps, outlines, and typewritten drafts. However, there is one "other" item, a news article from 1972 in the Jornal do Brasil, kept among the author's collection, which transitioned from the intimacy of personal belongings to the public institutional context of a literary archive. Drawing on Foucault (2001), Derrida (2007) and Marques (2015), this work proposes to reflect on the archivist and non-archivist functions within a literary collection, considering it as an "other" space, “outside”, from the perspective of Foucault, where the deposited materials acquire "other" meanings when juxtaposed with the other archived materialities.
