Abstract

This article reflects on how contemporary literature contains "noise" that provokes discomfort and influences the way the subject produces meaning in the world. We, as symbolic, historical, and social beings, integrate a triad of fractures, memories, and subjectivities that traverse society, discourse, and the literary field. Through artistic subjectivity, the female figure emerges diluted in a socio-plural condition within the literary text, which demands voices like that of Futhi Ntshingila, author of *Without Gentleness* (2016). The work addresses diverse issues, such as the representations of the feminine, evidenced by the characters' experiences, which configures the character of aspects that oscillate between conformity, absences, and protest, as well as the way literature gives space to different discourses and voices. In view of this, this study uses two complementary types of analysis: the first articulates dialogism and responsive authorship, considering the author and her writing context; and the second, literary analysis grounded in coloniality. From this perspective, this analytical research adopts a qualitative and bibliographical approach, based on theorists such as Regina Dalcastagnè (2005), Mikhail Bakhtin (1997, 2003), Anibal Quijano (2000), Catherine Walsh (2001) and other decolonial and feminist authors, encouraging a literary reading situated within the sphere of dissident epistemologies.
