Abstract

The Latin American narrative produced during the transition from the 20th to the 21st century reveals, on the one hand, the dystopian feeling that populates the collective imagination of Latin America, amid the ills of colonization that remain alive, even in the present time. On the other hand, displaces the fictional text from a distant territory, bringing it closer to the biographical space in which the author's own experiences are processed. Therefore, based on this perspective, the short story Sensini, by Roberto Bolaño (1953-2003), figures as a powerful expression for the arrangement of the autobiographical fiction narrative, considering that the drama of the characters intersects with the writer's idiosyncrasies, so that the its layers, as a subject, are molded to the threads of fictional discourse, establishing with the reader a game of questions, answers and representation. Therefore, based on the theoretical contributions of Freud, Ricardo Piglia, Walter Benjamin and Leonor Arfuch, among others, this study aims to understand the extent to which Bolaño's tale is constituted as an autobiographical fiction narrative, revealing it as a writing of oneself, the other and the world.
