Resumo

O tratamento taxonômico da tribo Sophoreae (Leguminosae, Papilionoideae) no estado da Bahia é apresentado neste trabalho. Sophora tomentosa é a única espécie registrada no estado, ocorrendo exclusivamente em restingas e manguezais litorâneos. Os frutos moniliformes, em forma de colar de contas, são característicos desta espécie. São fornecidas descrições morfológicas do gênero e da espécie, além de registros de floração e frutificação, comentários, ilustrações e mapa de distribuição geográfica da espécie no estado.
